In the TENTACLE - Esophagus cohort study, we aim to investigate what factors contribute to anastomotic leakage severity and and what leakage characteristics are associated with the success of different initial treatments of anastomotic leakage.

This retrospective study is performed in a multicenter and multinational setting. Almost all DUCA-group (Dutch Upper-GI Cancer Audit) hospitals have consented to participate and the Oesophago-Gastric Anastomosis Audit (OGAA) study group and the Minimally Invasive Oesophagectomy (MIO) think tank initiative are important collaborators.
